AN “ACRONYM” THAT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE is “NEWSTART”. N is for Nutrition — eat right; E is for Exercise — get moving whether you feel like it or not; W is for Water — drink lots; S is for Sunshine — take time to let it into your life; T is for Temperance — avoid artificial stress relievers, i.e., coffee, alcohol, drugs, or sugar; A is for Air — breathe fresh, clean air; R is for Rest — take a Sabbath; T is for Trust — find a personal relationship with God and nurture your own spiritual development. If life has lost its meaning, let us recommend a “New Start”! Book of Jeremiah 30:17 says, “I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord. Your Health Ministry Team invites you to join us for our “Annual Health Sabbath” today, February 28. Darlene Blaney will be speaking at both worship services. ~ Your Health Ministry Team

A HEARTFELT WELCOME to Darlene Blaney; Alberta Conference Volunteer Health Ministries Coordinator and Canadian Union Health Director; and her husband Ron who supports her in these ministries. Darlene has a PhD in Nutrition, is a nutritional consulting practitioner and certified fitness trainer. Darlene owns and operates, along with her husband, a nutrition practice in combination with a natural food store in Eckville. Truly a gem in this small town and so worth the drive. May we be inspired to embrace Total Health as we lean on Jesus – the true Healer.

KINDERGARTEN SABBATH SCHOOL LEADER NEEDED We are prayerfully seeking an additional volunteer to help lead our Kindergarten Sabbath School. We are grateful for our two faithful leaders but we REALLY NEED one more person to join this ministry. If you feel called to serve in this role, please contact Judy Gorbenko at 403-550-7748.

LACOMBE FOOD BANK & THRIFT STORE looking for someone to assist the director in a paid part time position. Lifting is required! This position will assist the director in all duties of the Food Bank & Thrift Store. If you feel this could be the place for you, please call Brenda @ 403-782-6777.

GLOBAL YOUTH DAY Join us on Sabbath, March 21, 2026 for Global Youth Day (GYD), a worldwide youth service and outreach initiative coordinated by the General Conference Youth Ministries Department. GYD invites young people to be the hands and feet of Jesus by living out His gospel through acts of kindness, prayer, and community service. This year’s theme, “Communion in Action,” is inspired by Acts 4:31 and calls us to unite in faith and action—boldly sharing God’s love in our communities just as the early church did. Let’s support and pray for our young people as they share God’s love in practical ways!

IMPORTANT FOR PARENTS & GUARDIANS: Thank you for entrusting us with your children during Sabbath School. As part of our commitment to their safety, we ask that parents please drop off and pick up their children directly from their classrooms. We’re grateful for your partnership ~ Kids Crew Team

SHARE YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT Have something to share with our church family? We welcome announcements for our weekly bulletin, including ministry updates, community events, and special celebrations. Submit here by Wednesday at noon to be included in the upcoming Sabbath bulletin (space permitting).

I almost always have a water bottle with me, usually my favourite white Owala with a shiny Burman sticker. It’s my favourite because I can snap the lid closed, throw it in my bag and not give it a second thought. It will stay sealed and never leak. Ever.

Last week, we were headed to Calgary. I took my water bottle all apart, scrubbed it nicely, filled it up, and threw it in my bag, along with my makeup pouch, my journal, my sudoku book, and my book of the week.

During the drive, I noticed that my makeup bag was wet. I didn’t think much of it; it could have been melted snow or something. Then I pulled out my water bottle to drink, and it was only half full. With dread, I looked back in my bag, and all three of my books were drenched. It wasn’t ideal, but thankfully, it’s only water. It didn’t get sticky. My books and journal have recovered well, despite the telltale wrinkles from a little bath.

This Sabbath, I grabbed the same bottle again, threw it in my bag along with my iPad. Fortunately, I caught the leak much faster this time, and it faired well aside from some droplets on its surface.

Was this the end of the road for my water bottle? How could this trusted brand fail? It was so reliable! When I investigated the lid, I finally realized a piece was missing. Jr found it, a small, seemingly unimportant grey piece of rubber. When he put it back where it belonged, my trusty bottle was as good as new. Not one drop was lost.

I wonder how often that happens to me? I’ve neglected some small thing in my life, and the impact is massive. I end up leaking everywhere, and there’s a mess.

What might have seemed a small thing has a significant impact on my life. How about you, friend? Could it be that even a few moments in personal connection time with God makes all the difference? Or can a 15-minute walk change how you feel during a stressful day? Or even a few, undistracted minutes with a loved one can make a huge difference in how connected you feel.

What small thing is actually a big thing in your life? Has it gotten forgotten? How can you put this small piece back to rights?

~ from Pastor Massiel’s heart
