HEARING LOSS AND BALANCE are among many factors that can contribute to falls. Individuals who have hearing loss are more likely to experience accidental falls. Studies have shown that wearing hearing aids improves balance compared to individuals who have hearing loss but do not wear hearing aids. There are three main reasons why hearing loss can affect our balance: 1. Hearing loss reduces awareness of our environment, meaning less awareness of people and activities around us. 2. Hearing loss decreases spatial awareness, making it harder to know where you are in relation to your surroundings. 3. Hearing loss requires more brain energy, leaving less available for maintaining balance. Our physical bodies are gifts from the Creator. Jeremiah 30:17 says, “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,” declares the Lord.

SHARE YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT Have something to share with our church family? We welcome announcements for our weekly bulletin, including ministry updates, community events, and special celebrations. Submit here by Wednesday at noon to be included in the upcoming Sabbath bulletin (space permitting).

Another week’s wrapped up, and it’s finally starting to feel a bit like spring—at least by Alberta standards. The weather looked great for most of the week, but as we all know, that can change pretty quickly. Still, these past couple of weeks have been full in a good way, with the end of Week of Prayer at CHCS, Education Sabbath, and the pie auction. All of it really showed how strong the connection is between the school and the church.

One moment that stuck with me was the pie auction. I usually try to help out by baking something, and this year I planned to make a cheesecake. But right at the end, it didn’t turn out how I hoped—the cheesecake ended up taking on water and was completely soaked. After putting in the time and effort, it honestly felt like a bit of a flop.

But that’s kind of how life goes sometimes. You plan, you prepare, you do your best—and things still don’t work out. In those moments, you’ve got a choice: quit or try again. So I decided to start over and make a new cheesecake.

And really, that’s something God reminds us of too. Our strength isn’t in everything going perfectly—it’s in trusting Him through the process, even when it means starting over.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28
