FRIENDSHIPS enrich your life and improve your health. Friends can help you celebrate good times and support you during difficult ones. They help keep you from feeling alone and can strengthen your sense of connection, belonging, and purpose. Friendships can boost happiness and lower stress. Other benefits of friendship include improved self-confidence and a stronger sense of self-worth. Friends also help us cope during hard times such as job loss, serious illness, the death of a loved one, or divorce. Loneliness and isolation can increase the likelihood of anxiety and depression, but friends encourage healthy habits and help us avoid unhealthy ones such as overeating or lack of exercise, lowering the risk of health problems. “A friend loveth at all times…” — Proverbs 17:17 ~ Your Health Ministry Team

SHARE YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT Have something to share with our church family? We welcome announcements for our weekly bulletin, including ministry updates, community events, and special celebrations. Submit here by Wednesday at noon to be included in the upcoming Sabbath bulletin (space permitting).

“I’m old and broken.” This is one of my favourite sayings. All those who are 20 and 30 years older than me are saying, “You’re NOT old!” Yes, I concede the ‘old’ bit but, I am broken. Lots of pain from sporting injuries when I was much younger. I remember visiting a friend in palliative care and she asked if there would be pain in heaven. I was happy to share with her there would definitely be NO PAIN in heaven. Revelation 21:4 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” In heaven we will be whole.

Free from physical pain, mental and emotional pain, relational pain, spiritual pain. God’s plan for us did not involve pain. Pain came as a result of us listening to Satan instead of God. God has done and is doing everything possible for us to turn to Him and listen to Him instead of our enemy, Satan. God longs for us to be made whole.

I need to be made whole to be free from physical pain. If being free from physical pain needs to happen to advance the gospel then God will make it happen. If not, so be it. I also need to be made whole from mental and emotional pain. I have faulty ways of thinking and seeing which are not helpful. I am critical. I get defensive. I am lacking empathy. I am filled with fear. I need healing in all these areas. I need to be made whole.

There are days when I long to just sit with God and instead I launch into prepping for a Bible study group, or a sermon. I choose work over relationship with God. I need to be made whole spiritually. This is the one I focus on. I think that the more spiritually whole I am, the rest falls into place. Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Pray asking God to make you whole and be willing to let Him do His will in your life.

~ from Pastor Honey’s heart
