It does not look out for its own interests. It does not easily become angry. It does not keep track of other people’s wrongs. Love is not happy with evil. But it is full of joy when the truth is spoken. It always protects. It always trusts. It always hopes. It never gives up. Love never fails…” Now take time to read these verses over again, & insert your name wherever the word “love” is💕Unconditional love is love without strings attached. ”A new command I give you: Love one another. Walk in the way of Love
This week, it is big on my heart that we do not know how many days we have on this
earth, so we need to make the most of the ones we do have. Jesus knew how many
days He had and lived very intentionally. There was a time, recorded in John 7, where Jesus chose not to go to one of the major festivals in Jerusalem because “my time has not yet fully come.” (verse 8). Christ’s focus was on building God’s kingdom of love, and everything revolved around that.
I don’t know how many days I have so I need to live very intentionally every day. My
focus needs to be to seek God first each day, surrender my agenda to Him, desire His agenda, and to walk in the way of love. Ephesians 4:32-5:2 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Is my life a fragrant offering or a stench in the nostrils? I want to be a fragrant offering.
How can I know if I am walking in the way of love? 1 John 2:6 “Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.” Jesus loved radically, submitted totally to the Father, and stayed focused on Kingdom building by personifying extreme love.
Lord, help me love in the extreme. Not some mediocre, no different from any other, love, but extreme love! Lord, help me know what that even looks like. It will look different for each person because God made us unique and calls us according to His purposes. It is not my place to judge someone else’s love. It is my place to surrender to God, listen to His still small voice, and walk in the way of Love to which He guides me. God, help me love well.
~ from Pastor Honey’s heart
