TOMORROW! CHURCH CLEANING DAY Join us on Sunday, June 14, at 9:00 a.m. as we work together to care for our church home. Whether you can help for an hour or stay the whole morning, every helping hand makes a difference. With enough volunteers, we hope to be finished by noon. A pizza lunch will be provided for all volunteers afterward!

GOSPEL CONCERT – JULY 6 Everyone is warmly invited to a special gospel concert featuring Folk Mountain Gospel (Don & Donna Mohl) on Monday, July 6, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sylvan Lake SDA Church (4607–47 Avenue, Sylvan Lake). Enjoy an inspiring evening as Don and Donna share the love of Jesus through a unique blend of folk and mountain-style gospel music, featuring traditional and biblical instruments such as the hammered dulcimer, bowed psaltery, mandolin, zither, banjo, and guitar. A love offering will be received. CDs, DVDs, and handcrafted musical instruments will be available for purchase after the program.

SAGE WORK PROJECT Our first SAGE work project is coming up on June 28 & 29 at Peace Hills School in Wetaskiwin. We will be painting, cleaning, and helping to give the school a general refresh in preparation for the new school year. Lunch and supper will be provided on Sunday, and breakfast and lunch will be provided on Monday. RV parking is available in the school yard, and limited accommodations are available with church members. For more info email [email protected] or call/text Helen Winters at 780-289-3378.

THE PARKLAND PATHFINDER CLUB has purchased an enclosed trailer. This has significantly reduced their operating expenses and so they are seeking sponsors to help purchase 4 tires, or assist in its repainting. To make donations see pastors, treasurer, or pathfinder director.

SABBATH SCHOOL QUARTERLIES have arrived. Those who preordered regular quarterlies may pick up their copies at their convenience from the church office on Sabbath between 11:00–11:30 a.m. or during the week. Judy Teichroeb will contact those who ordered Large Print or Easy Reading quarterlies when their copies are available. Please note that if you placed your first order for a Large Print or Easy Reading quarterly in February, you will receive your first copy next quarter, as these orders must be submitted two quarters in advance.

7 REASONS DADS MATTER TO THEIR CHILDREN 1. God says that dads carry significant weight in their children’s lives. 2. When a dad’s heart is turned toward his children, they learn that they are worthy of being loved. 3. Children internalize their dad’s view of them. 4. Children who feel connected to their dads are more confident, healthier, and happier. 5. A strong parent-child bond protects children from influences that seek to steer them away from their authentic selves. 6. When a child is known and seen by their dad, they are less likely to look for love in all the wrong places. 7. Earthly fathers build a bridge to God, their Heavenly Father. A father’s love is the compass by which his children learn to navigate, to sail, and to reach their dreams! “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6. Happy Father’s Day! ~ Your Health Ministry Team

SHARE YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT Have something to share with our church family? We welcome announcements for our weekly bulletin, including ministry updates, community events, and special celebrations. Submit here by Wednesday at noon to be included in the upcoming Sabbath bulletin (space permitting).

Do you ever feel a prompting from the Lord and ignore it! An idea pops into my head, call, go visit, connect, and I respond with, “Yeah Lord, great idea. Later.” I pray for the person immediately. Shame I don’t call, go, connect. This has been an ongoing saga for decades. I’m getting better. Now I text when the prompt comes and I wish them a great day. Sometimes I ask about getting together. Sometimes it even happens.

I am an introvert so reaching out to and connecting with people is scary for me. I am very happy to connect with someone to do a bible study. Yay! My happy place. Structured focused purpose. Small groups are great. We have a curriculum to follow! Counselling with people is also structured with a defined purpose. Home visits are part of my job as nurture pastor, so I have purpose in that. The one I find really hard is to socialize with no agenda, purpose, or structure.

The Lord has been working on that with me for the last few years. He brought a beautiful young woman into my life who took the initiative to build community with me. Then He brought a beautiful older lady (my age) into my life who took the initiative to build community with me. I am so grateful for these ladies. He has prompted multiple people of all different ages to reach out to connect socially. I say yes and would love to connect, but I do not make it happen.

Last Sabbath He did it again. Someone else took the initiative to approach me and invite my darling Clinton and I to have a meal with them, just to enjoy each other’s company and laugh. This is a person the Lord has brought to mind for me many times to do just that. I really wanted to but never did anything about it, until now when they reached out to me.

You know the crazy part of all this is, every time I respond positively to God, I love it. I have a great time!!!! All the people He brings to me are sooooo lovely. I’m sharing this to hold myself accountable and to encourage you. Please don’t let fear hold you back from the joy of what the Lord is calling you to.

~ from Pastor Honey’s heart
