College Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Church Custodian.
This part-time position plays an important role in helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for worship services, ministry programs, community events, and special occasions.
Position Details
- Approximately 75 hours per month
- $18.00 per hour
- Additional paid hours may be available for rental events
Key Responsibilities
The Church Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the church facility, including:
- Cleaning and sanitizing foyers, sanctuary, offices, classrooms, hallways, stairways, and common areas
- Maintaining washrooms and replenishing supplies
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and waste removal
- Preparing spaces for weekly services, ministry activities, weddings, funerals, graduations, and community rentals
- Assisting with seasonal deep-cleaning projects and ongoing facility care
- Supporting the upkeep of the baptistry and other designated areas
Qualifications
Applicants should:
- Hold or be willing to obtain WHMIS Certification
- Hold or be willing to obtain TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) Certification
- Be able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
- Be capable of performing physical custodial duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs
