HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF “EXERCISE SNACKS”? There is growing evidence from new research that short bursts of exercise—known as “exercise snacks”—are good for your fitness and overall health. These studies confirm the health and lifestyle benefits observed in the world’s longest-lived populations, living in the “Blue Zones.” The people of the five Blue Zones—Loma Linda, California; Okinawa, Japan; Ikaria, Greece; Sardinia, Italy; and Nicoya, Costa Rica—move their bodies every 20 minutes by integrating natural movement into their daily routines. Try these five “exercise snacks” to help you stay healthy and happy:
- Take the stairs
- Vacuum the house
- Enjoy music while you cook
- Walk the dog
- Plant a garden

MADE TO REFLECT
During my undergrad years, I dropped the small mirror I used for shaving. It cracked in two places, but the back held it together. It still worked, but I had to tilt it at different angles to see my reflection clearly. That broken mirror reminds me of what sin has done to our world.
Genesis 1:27 says, “God created mankind in His own image.” Yet that image—beautiful and whole—has been distorted by sin in individuals, communities, and even our cities. Some see cities as chaotic or corrupt, but as Dr. Skip Bell once wrote, cities are also places of opportunity—where God’s people can respond with love, care, and justice.
This weekend’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) focus invites us to see God’s image in every person. Our diversity is not a threat—it’s a reflection of God’s creativity. When we embrace this truth, we help restore the beauty that sin has fractured.
God calls us to two things: represent and restore.
To represent God means to reflect His character in our daily lives—speaking with kindness, acting with integrity, and showing compassion. To restore means to partner with God in healing what’s broken—by helping, serving, and advocating for those who are unseen or unheard.
Eventually, I replaced that broken mirror and could see my face clearly again. Likewise, when we love our neighbours and seek justice for our cities, the reflection of God becomes clearer—through us.
