GRATITUDE ENHANCES HEALTH, BRINGING HAPPINESS AND LONGEVITY. It can also be a powerful coping tool for anxiety. When you practice gratitude regularly, it helps combat negative thinking patterns by keeping your thoughts focused on the present. If you find yourself dwelling on negative thoughts about the past or future, challenge yourself to find something you are grateful for right now. Doing so can break the cycle of negative thinking and bring you back to the present. As you gather around the Thanksgiving dinner table with your family and friends, take a moment for each person to share something they are grateful for. Simple, yet profound! What a blessing. “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; His steadfast love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1~ Your Health Ministry Team

SHARE YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT Have something to share with our church family? We welcome announcements for our weekly bulletin, including ministry updates, community events, and special celebrations. Submit here by Wednesday at noon to be included in the upcoming Sabbath bulletin (space permitting).

I am sooooo blessed by God. He is wonderful! I have an amazing husband and children. I work with what I believe to be the best pastoral team in the world! I was going to say in the North American Division, but why limit it?! The people I get to work alongside Rock!!! I get to pastor a church filled with such lovely people. I hear stories of many people visiting others when they are sick or grieving, delivering food, helping with chores, giving gifts, supporting others through tough times. I hear people giving affirmations to others, appreciating what they are doing.
And yet, I am bothered. I am bothered that people who have been here for a long time live with gaping emotional wounds from the past. Others have long memories and hold something against another, even though it was 40 years ago. I am bothered that some people new to the community, maybe in the last year or two, still do not have a sense of community, as no one reaches out to include them. Some who have lived here for a long time do not have a sense of community either.
Then I ask: what am I doing about what is bothering me? God put this on my heart. He is calling me to do something about it. I need to listen to Him and go where He leads. I invite you to join me in helping everyone at College Heights know they are precious and honored in God’s sight—and in yours.
What is God calling you to do to help people heal from past wounds, to have a transformation of heart to see others through new eyes, to build community so everyone feels included? Let’s start a revolution for everyone to be made whole.
What is one thing you can do this week to let someone know they are precious to God and to you? Reach out to someone you don’t know and connect with them.
My dream is that everyone who walks into this church will know they are valued, loved, and wanted.
~ from Pastor Honey’s heart
