SPRING is a season of renewal… whether you are soaking up the sun, getting more active, making healthier food choices, setting new goals, or building habits that support a healthier and happier you. Spring is the perfect time to focus on your well-being. Here are five reasons spring is good for your health: 1. More sunshine = more vitamin D 2. Spring weather encourages more physical activity (e.g., biking, hiking, and running). 3. Seasonal produce supports a healthier diet and makes it a great time to visit farmers markets. 4. Spring cleaning benefits your mental health. Organizing and decluttering your space can help reduce stress, boost productivity, and create a positive environment. 5. Spring cleaning can also be therapeutic and give you a sense of control over your surroundings. Your health is a lifelong journey. “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you…” — Ezekiel 36:26 ~ Your Health Ministry Team

It’s Global Youth Day! In Acts 4:31, we read that when the early believers prayed together, their meeting place shook, they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke God’s word boldly. This powerful depiction of unity and divine empowerment inspires the theme for Global Youth Day 2026: “Communion In Action.” This theme emphasizes the transformative power of collective prayer and action, encouraging young people worldwide to unite in faith and boldly share God’s love through service. By coming together in purpose and mission, we can create a ripple effect of positive change, embodying the spirit of the early church in our communities today. *Excerpt from GC Youth Ministries website

When I was growing up, there were a handful of adults who poured into me, gave me opportunities to lead and participate in church. They took the time to have conversations with me, had me and my friends over to their homes, opened their cottage to our youth group and spent time with us. It was formative for my faith and the journey into pastoral ministry. These same adults advocated for me to be able to attend seminary, prayed for my family and still speak life into me today. And I see that same spirit here at College Heights.

While our young people lead worship and serve in different aspects today, there are a whole crew of parents and adults who rally around them. The GYD volunteer planning team not only empower the youth in this community, but influence them for eternity.

Dr Kara Powell from Fuller Institute researched what contributed teens transitioning from high school to college to remain connected to Jesus, for their faith to be ‘sticky’. This Sticky Faith research and resources revealed one of the 4 main contributing factors to be: Intergenerational Relationships – Despite the age segregation that exists in our churches and broader culture, each young person is greatly benefited when surrounded by a team of five adults. We call this the new 5:1 ratio. (What to read more? https://fulleryouthinstitute.org/stickyfaith)

And here’s why that matters: Every moment spent with a young person is a divine investment. Every word spoken has the power to shape them.

Every prayer shared creates connection that lasts. Known. Seen. Loved.

~ from Pastor Liz’s heart
