COMFORT IN TIMES OF LOSS After attending three funerals in the last three days, I was reminded how important it is to comfort and provide emotional support to those who have recently lost a loved one in their life. A bereavement support group provides a safe community for grieving people to safely express and release their feelings through shared interests and activities. Grieving a loved one can be a challenging process, and they could benefit from having someone who listens and shares in their feelings of loss and despair—making them hopeful about the future again, helping them develop new coping skills, and fostering a sense of belonging. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” Revelation 21:4

SHARE YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT Have something to share with our church family? We welcome announcements for our weekly bulletin, including ministry updates, community events, and special celebrations. Submit here by Wednesday at noon to be included in the upcoming Sabbath bulletin (space permitting).

Change is something I have a complicated relationship with, and time only seems to deepen that tension. On one hand, I welcome change; the kind that leads to growth and becoming a better version of myself. Waking up earlier, eating healthier, working out more, and pursuing personal goals can give me a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and control. These are changes I choose, and they feel hopeful because they reflect a desire to grow and improve.

Yet there are other changes that arrive whether I invite them or not. Time moves forward without asking permission, bringing shifts in relationships, environments, and responsibilities. People change. Seasons end. Roles evolve. What once felt familiar can slowly become uncertain. These changes are often beyond our control, and they can leave us feeling unsettled, stretched, or even grieving what used to be.

Whether we plan for it or not, change comes our way, and we are forced to keep moving forward. At times, life can feel like a competition we are barely prepared for. But God meets us there—not as a distant observer, but as a coach who walks beside us, reminding us that we can endure and that we have endured. He believes in us through every transition and challenge, even when we struggle to believe in ourselves. Every change that comes our way shapes us in new ways, what matters is how much are we going to rely on God as we change into something new.
