SAVE THE DATE: INTERNATIONAL SABBATH – MARCH 7, 2026 International Sabbath is coming! At College Heights, we celebrate God’s family from every nation and culture through worship, fellowship, and cultural appreciation. You are invited to bring cultural dishes to share, enough to serve about 7 people. Members are also invited to share cultural music, activities, and display booths (traditional clothing, food displays, spices, artifacts, or country highlights). To participate individually or as a group, please contact Tabitha at 403-352-2108 to sign up by January 30, 2026.

TAX RECEIPT REMINDER If you would like to receive your tax receipt sooner, please email your current email address and full name to our treasurer at [email protected] by January 30. Electronic tax receipts will be sent out during the first week of February. To receive a mailed copy, please make sure your mailing address is up to date in our records. Send your updated address to [email protected] by January 30. Please note that the church is unable to issue tax receipts for individuals whose mailing addresses are not on file, regardless of whether the receipt is electronic or printed. CLOTHING DONATION DRIVE The Saruk Center for Leadership Development is collecting clothing donations! Drop off donations by January 22 at bins located in the College Heights Church, Lakeview Hall, Burman Library, or Burman gym! All clothing is accepted and appreciated, though winter clothes are in great demand at the moment. Thank you for your support!

CHCS FRUIT FUNDRAISER The CHCS Fruit Fundraiser to raise money for the new playground will run from January 19 – February 10. Please visit our website: www.collegeheightschristianschool.ca and navigate to the Forms tab, where you will find the fundraising details and the order form. Payment is due with the order form. Product pick-up will be at the beginning of March.

THE POWER OF REST Did you know that getting enough sleep is essential? A lack of sleep can have a serious impact on our mental health. It impairs our ability to handle daily stress, think clearly, and make good decisions. A sleepy brain can make many mistakes! Would you benefit from a nap? A good nap can pull you out of an afternoon slump, recharge your energy, and leave you more alert and in a better mood. Some of the benefits of napping include:

• Increased alertness
• Improved attitude
• Better memory — when your computer “crashes,” you lose data, but when you “crash” on the couch for a while, it can actually help your memory!
• A more creative mindset for learning new skills

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MABEL MCKAY It is with deep sorrow, and with gratitude for a long and meaningful life, that we announce the passing of Mabel McKay (also known as Mabel Fischer, née Janzen), who died peacefully on January 5, 2026, at the age of 90. Mabel will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and acquaintances. A service to celebrate her life will be held in the spring, with a formal announcement to be shared once the details are finalized.
