FORGIVENESS MEANS DIFFERENT THINGS TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE Who hasn’t been hurt by the actions or words of another? If you hold on to that pain, you might be the one who suffers most. By embracing forgiveness, you also embrace peace and hope. Forgiveness may mean different things to different people, but it always involves an intentional decision to let go of resentment and anger. Consider how forgiveness can lead you down the path of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. James 5:16 says, “Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” Forgiveness brings healing—be kind to one another. ~ Your Health Ministry Team

I have always been fascinated by lights. As a young child, I looked forward to December 31 each year at midnight, when the fireworks would illuminate the dark sky with a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors. During this season, my mother would also bring my sibling and me on rides through the city at night to see Christmas lights, stopping for ice cream to sweeten the experience. Growing up in the Caribbean, I knew nothing of the natural wonder—aurora borealis, or northern lights. I did not know that God has been performing His own light spectacle in the dark skies of the north for thousands of years. By the time I learned about the northern lights, I was probably already an adult, but I was under the impression that I would need to travel to Norway or Iceland to see it.
To my delight, since moving to Alberta just over a year ago, we’ve been experiencing God’s own light show from our living room window. This week has just been phenomenal! Hues of red, pink, green, yellow, and blue—so beautiful! I have done some research on what exactly causes this phenomenon; the scientific explanation is rather convoluted. But what’s simple is God’s love for us. I continue to marvel at the awesomeness of our God—at how He decorates the earth with flora and fauna, and the skies with stars and auroras. I invite you, too, like David, to bask in the beauty of these reminders of His love for us!
Psalm 8:3-4 (NLT)
3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place, 4 What are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?
~ from Pastor Carl’s heart
